Net Zero + Passive Build, Estimated value at $20M+
We always aim to be environmentally friendly and eco-conscious whenever we can when demolishing and building on our jobsites. From the start we incorporated Built Green and recycling efforts. Remaining materials were donated to make small dwellings for Seattle homeless veterans. The existing waterfront home was sailed to Canada to rest in the oceanside cliffs in British Columbia for its new homeowners.
Built in its place is a custom and architecturally significant home on the shores of Lake Washington in Kirkland that is a net zero, passive-built home. Stunning, unique, and custom in every way, we embraced a number of opportunities, challenges and a true custom design/build journey with the Owner’s vision. We also faced the pandemic, labor and material shortages, shipping delays and more. We persevered and are thankful and grateful for the amazing experience and the talented team of people who were willing to stretch their skillset and knowledge to make this home the most unique we’ve ever built. This 4-year build integrated the experience of constructing a small- scale, high performance, commercial project with additional client visions as construction evolved. This involved new permitting, engineering, enhanced creative and technical ingenuity of all kinds that took time and patience to do it right with skilled labor and the highest quality materials.
